I see my mother’s face when I look at this photo of me. \u00a0It’s comforting.<\/p>\n
I was born in Long Island, New York, and moved to the west coast with my family when I was 11.<\/p>\n
I attended high school in \u00a0southern California and went to college at UC Berkeley, where I received a BA \u00a0in Linguistics \u00a0in 1979.<\/p>\n
My favorite language was ASL, and for a short while I entertained the thought of being a lawyer who specialized in serving the needs of the Deaf community. \u00a0I became a paralegal and quickly discovered the life of a lawyer was not for me.<\/p>\n
20 years later, I changed careers and finally dabbled in sign language interpreting, office administration, non-profit social service work, and finally, non-profit arts.<\/p>\n
For fun, I am involved in local community theater and have acted, directed, stage managed, costumed, painted sets for and written scripts for, and received acting and directing awards for numerous short and full length plays.<\/p>\n
